The Garmin Venu2S Slate/Black Band 010-02429-10 sports watch is the ideal choice for athletes of all abilities. Its features can be used not only in sports but also in everyday wear.
The case of the Garmin Venu2S Slate/Black Band 010-02429-10 GPS smart watch is made of hardened polymer, the lunette is steel. Inside this case works a module with a lot of functions, useful mainly during sports. The watch is equipped with WiFi connectivity and offers music playback from its own memory, to which you can upload your own music files as well as playlists from streaming music services such as Spotify or Deezer.
The water resistance of this model is 50m (5 ATM) which in this case means it can handle surface swimming. The comfortable silicone strap features a QuickFit® attachment system that allows for quick, tool-free replacement. The colour AMOLED touchscreen is protected by Gorilla Glass.
AMOLED displays are more power-hungry than transflective displays but have higher resolution. The display image is both smoother and significantly brighter, while an AMOLED display has a significant brightness advantage over a transflective display, but not as good readability in direct sunlight. Due to the higher power consumption, AMOLED displays are usually turned off and light up when you want to look at the display or when a mobile phone message appears on the display. (However, the Garmin VENU watch can also be set to be on continuously.) Turning the display off is used to achieve longer battery life.
1.1" colour AMOLED touchscreen display (360x360 pixel resolution) with Gorilla Glass
Power management : up to 19 hours in GPS mode or up to 7 hours of GPS + music listening, up to 10 days in smartwatch mode
-One of the new features of the watch is the power management of the watch. If needed, it is possible to turn on battery saving, limiting some functions of the watch but getting up to 4 times longer battery life per charge.

The watch can be further expanded with third party apps, e.g. InLine Skating, Riding, etc.
Satellite signal reception: American GPS, Russian GLONASS and European Galileo.
Built-in sensors: GNSS (GPS, Glonass, Galileo), 3-axis compass, altimeter, temperature sensor, gyroscope, Elevate® optical wrist heart rate sensor.
Wrist heart rate measurement
Daily activity monitor: in addition to heart rate, the watch also continuously measures the number of steps, distance walked, floors climbed, calories burned, sleep duration and quality throughout the day. Basic data can be viewed on the watch display, but for a detailed evaluation of the recorded data, we recommend using the Garmin Connect app.
Activateinstructional animations for strength and cardio training, yoga and pilates. Animations are available for pre-installed workouts and for workouts downloaded from Garmin Connect™.
Data fields: The color AMOLED, touchscreen display used excels in color rendering and high resolution. The watch has an ambient light sensor and is able to adjust the brightness of the display to make it easy to read in all conditions. The numerical data that the watch displays during sports activity is shown in a distinctive font. The number of data fields and the size of the data displayed can be easily adjusted so that the display shows the values you want to monitor, while at the same time being displayed at a size that suits you. By default, the display is set to conserve battery power so that it turns off after a period of time. You can adjust this in the watch menu and leave it permanently on, but at the expense of battery life.
Music: The watch allows you to either synchronise playlists from selected music streaming services (such as Deezer, Amazon Music or Spotify®), upload songs from your computer to the internal memory using a USB cable, or control a connected mobile phone. If you listen to music directly from your watch, just connect any Bluetooth headphones and listen without your phone in range. The watch can hold up to 500 songs.
Detailed strength workouts - The watch includes pre-recorded strength workouts including graphical displays of muscle groups for each exercise. This can help you focus on the desired muscle group when exercising.

Weather information
Smart notifications: you can receive emails, text messages and alerts on your watch when you pair it with a compatible Apple or Android smartphone. When you connect your phone, incoming calls, texts and other notifications appear on the watch display. From the watch display, you can control the music player on your phone, including setting the volume or skipping tracks. You can also monitor weather forecast information on the watch display, and you can set up phone numbers to send an emergency message if the watch automatically assesses that an accident has occurred. When incoming calls are displayed, not only the caller's number appears on the watch display, but also the name taken from the phone book.
Accident detection: if the watch is connected to a smart mobile phone, it is possible to use safety functions that send information about the need for help to a pre-set phone number in the event of an emergency. The request for help can be triggered manually or automatically. The Incident detection function automatically detects an accident and automatically sends a request for help in the event of an emergency. The second option is the Assistence function, which can be used in an emergency and can be called up manually with a key combination. The safety functions use the connected mobile phone and send the current position/location of the watch with the request for assistance.
Third-party apps: Thanks to the Connect IQ project, additional apps, special data fields, widgets and watch faces can be downloaded to the watch. The project was created a few years ago, allowing computer enthusiasts and programmers to create their own applications. The vast majority of the content is completely free, but you may also see paid apps or looks. However, most developers try to get a small reward by using a PayPal link, but whether you choose to support them in their work is up to you.
